This is a job we undertook for a client who wanted floor sanding in Biggleswade. As you can see from the images above the difference floor sanding can make to this oak reclaimed parquet floor.
We first sanded the floor with a 36 grit sanding belt twice in both directions as the floor was quite uneven due to it being a reclaimed parquet floor. We then sanded it with a 50 grit belt followed by an 80 grit belt. We also sanded the edges and corners with the same grits as the belts.
Once the main belt sanding and edging was completed we then began to go over the floor with 60 grit sanding disks using the Bona Flexisand Power Drive to ensure all belt scratches were gone. We then passed over the floor again using a 100 grit disks followed by buffing the floor with a 120 grit sanding mesh.
We then vacuumed the floor and applied the first coat of seal which was Junckers Base Prime. Once the primer was dry we then applied 3 coats of Junckers Strong semi gloss. We also buffed the floor in between coats of lacquer to ensure a perfectly smooth finish for this reclaimed parquet floor in Biggleswade.
